Reading Less @ Link Wanderlust

Bruna Dantas Lobato is the kind of writer who keeps track of everything she reads. She writes observations and takes notes. She reads passages aloud and memorizes poetry. So reading for her is a slow, organic process. With websites like Goodreads, you can keep track of the books you read and create reading challenges that make you feel good about yourself. Check out the reading challenges here.

But Bruna decided to slow down with her reading:

Recently I’ve been questioning my own ambitions. I’ve realized that it doesn’t matter how many books I read each year. Being well-read is not a destination, it’s not a place where one arrives. Counting how many books one reads is a futile exercise, more interested in the conquest than in the experience.

Read her essay On Reading Less here.
